Description
Formulation: Amlodipine Besilate
Indication/s:
Treatment of hypertension and prophylaxis of angina.
Contraindication/s:
- Hypersensitivity to amlodipine besilate, dihydropyridines, or any component of the product
- Severe hypotension
- Shock (including cardiogenic shock)
- Hemodynamically unstable heart failure after myocardial infarction
Storage Condition:
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
Dosage and Administration:
- Recommended dosage is according to the patient’s age and symptoms or as prescribed by the physician.
Special Instructions:
- If you forget to take a tablet, skip that dose. Take the next dose at the usual time. Do not double the dose.
- Visit your doctor immediately if you experience wheeziness, chest pain, shortness of breath, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Mechanism of Action:
- Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist that inhibits calcium ion influx into cardiac and vascular smooth muscle. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing vascular smooth muscle, reducing peripheral resistance.
